Purple Heart awarded to SGT “Doc” Wilson under new Army guidelines for traumatic brain injuries
On July 5th, SGT Samuel “Doc” Wilson III was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries suffered in Iraq in 2005.
On July 5th, SGT Samuel “Doc” Wilson III was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries suffered in Iraq in 2005. The presentation was made by COL McGuire who was his Battalion Commander in Afghanistan. The ceremony was conducted at the Fredericksburg National Guard Armory with his family, friends and fellow veterans in attendance. Staff members of the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program were instrumental in assisting SGT Wilson obtain the award. Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) App Helps Thousands
WASHINGTON – The PTSD Coach smartphone application (app), launched in April by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD), has already helped more than 5,000 users connect with important mental health information and resources.
