Small talk
Talk about your weekend, share a joke, make a new friend. • Best books or movies on combat and why • If you could change one policy or create one policy that is related to veterans, service members or families what would it be?

RE:Small talk
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good book about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?

I personally have really enjoyed "War" by Sebastian Junger and "A Moment of Truth in Iraq" by Michael Yon.

RE:Small talk
War is an excellent example of the late war in Afghanistan. I also recommend Ahmed Rashids catalog of works on Afghanistan, alqueda and the taliban.

There is also a book called th bear went over the muntain which describes the russian experience in afghanistan... surprising there are parallels. IAVA founder Paul Rickhoff's Chasing Ghosts is about his experience in Iraq.
