Support Groups

Purpose

The veterans and family member group is designed to provide family members with support through common experiences and exchanges of advice about resilience and successes of military life experiences. This group is open to all family members, dependents, and caretakers of: OIF/OEF, Vietnam and Desert Storm veterans; Reserve and National Guard members; military contractors deployed in a combat theater and currently deployed service members.

Focus

The focus of the support groups is to provide a safe, supportive, and empathic environment where veterans and family members can share their thoughts and feelings about common experiences, and learn or reinforce coping skills.

With the permission of group members, the group facilitator may invite guest speakers to present on topics of interest that are recovery focused.
