Military Appreciation Month/Mental Health Awareness

During the month of May, all service members past and present, veteran and current are recognized for National Military Apprication month. Image of Military Appreciation Month BannerThe U.S. Senate passed a resolution in 1999 designating the month of May to be National Military Appreciation Month, this agreement entitled "Concurrent Resolution No. 328" passed unanimously in the House.

The month of May also encompasses Armed Forces Day on May 15th, which was created in 1949 as well as Memorial Day, which is the last Monday in May.

Celebrate National Military Appreciation Month during the month of May along with the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program and give back to those who have already given so much. Participate by helping out a veteran or service member at anytime throughout the month of May. 
 
May is also Mental Health Awareness Month.
