Wartime Oral History Project

The Wartime Oral History Project (WOHP) matches a staff of volunteers with war veterans to record their stories on film. The videos are provided to the veterans as well as retained at the American Wartime Museum and the Library of Congress. Select interviews are edited into concise videos and posted on our website as well as other media outlets such as Youtube.

Eligibility

Servicemen and servicewomen who participated in wartime operations* are eligible to participate in the project. In addition to military veterans, civilians who supported wartime operations or were significantly impacted by these operations are eligible (Examples: USO, DOD, Gold Star Mothers, 9/11 survivors, etc).

* Wartime operations are defined as wars, expeditions and campaigns listed as eligibility for VFW membership.
