The VWWP support group meeting for the Fredericksburg area, was held at the War Memorial to place a wreath prior to Memorial Day. Placed on the War Memorial wall are names of local fallen comrades of every major war that were killed in action, from World War I to the current Global War on Terrorism (GWOT). Members of the support group honored local war heroes that made the ultimate sacrifice. Ten names on the wall and their short bios were read from some of the members of the VWWP support group:

One of the local charitable groups in the Fredericksburg area is The
Some Gave All Foundation. Established in 2007 in memory of Army
Sgt. Nicholas Conan Mason of King George and Marine
Sgt. Joshua James Frazier of Spotsylvania. Both men were killed in the line of duty in Iraq. The foundation honors these men and all others who have been wounded or killed in service to their country.
